Uncover UI is a free Chrome extension developed by Chris Palmer that aims to remove annoying overlay elements that hide important user interface (UI) elements in Gmail and Google Docs. Uncover UI currently works for some elements in Gmail and Google Docs, although it can be extended to include additional elements upon receiving feature requests. The extension's simplicity is evident in its short and straightforward implementation, focusing solely on removing intrusive overlay elements.
There is no need for any configuration to use Uncover UI. Simply click on the Lightning (️) icon in the Chrome toolbar to activate the extension. If you wish to restore the overlay elements, a simple page reload will do the trick.
